Operating under immense loads and high temperatures, these large hydrodynamic (slide) bearings are all that stands between smooth production and a catastrophic, plant-stopping failure. High-Performance White Metal (Babbitt) Lining: We utilize high-quality, tin- or lead-based Babbitt alloys, centrifugally cast or statically poured onto the bearing shell. This process ensures a perfect, void-free bond. The Babbitt provides an ideal low-friction surface with excellent embeddability, protecting the main kiln tyre/trunnion from damage.
Robust Cast Steel Housing: The bearing housing (pillow block) is manufactured from high-strength cast steel (e.g., ZG270-500) designed to withstand the massive static and dynamic loads of the kiln and provide a rigid, stable support structure.
Precision Machining for Hydrodynamic Lubrication: The performance of a slide bearing depends entirely on maintaining a microscopic film of oil between the surfaces. Our bearings are precision CNC-machined and often hand-scraped to achieve the exact geometric profile and surface finish required to generate and sustain this critical hydrodynamic wedge, preventing metal-to-metal contact.
Comprehensive Quality Assurance: Every bearing undergoes a rigorous quality control process, including:
Chemical analysis of the base metal and Babbitt.
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) on the bond between the Babbitt and steel shell.
Dye Penetrant Testing (PT) on the finished surface.
Dimensional verification with CMM or laser trackers.
