Product Description
The kiln tyre, or riding ring, is the primary structural interface that supports the entire weight of the rotary kiln and its payload onto the support roller stations. These massive steel rings must maintain perfect roundness and structural integrity under immense loads and thermal stress. Any distortion or failure in the tyre leads to kiln misalignment, excessive vibration, premature refractory failure, and ultimately, catastrophic downtime.
Yile Machinery is a specialist in casting and machining large, heavy-duty kiln tyres. We leverage advanced foundry techniques and large-capacity machining to produce riding rings that provide a stable, reliable foundation for your kiln for decades.
The long-term performance of a kiln tyre is determined by the quality of its casting and the precision of its machining. Our process is optimized for maximum durability and dimensional accuracy.
Each tyre is custom cast in a large sand mold using high-quality carbon (e.g., ZG45) or alloy steel (e.g., ZG42CrMo).
Our foundry process is carefully controlled to produce a sound, homogenous casting free from porosity, shrinkage, and other internal defects.
After casting, the tyre undergoes a crucial normalizing and tempering heat treatment cycle.
Benefit: This process refines the grain structure of the steel and, most importantly, relieves all internal stresses created during the casting and cooling process. A stress-relieved tyre is far less susceptible to cracking during installation and operation.
The tyre is machined on a large-capacity vertical lathe. We precisely machine the inside diameter (for mounting on the kiln shell) and the outside rolling surface.
Benefit: This guarantees a high degree of roundness, concentricity, and surface finish. A perfectly round and smooth tyre ensures even load distribution, minimizes vibration, and extends the life of both the tyre and the support rollers.
We utilize proven steel grades designed for the unique challenges of kiln operation.
ZG45 (Similar to AISI 1045): A high-quality carbon steel that provides excellent strength and durability for standard applications.
ZG42CrMo (Similar to AISI 4140): A chromium-molybdenum alloy steel offering superior strength, toughness, and resistance to thermal fatigue, making it the ideal choice for high-load or high-temperature kiln applications.
We understand there is zero margin for error. Every kiln tyre is certified through a rigorous quality assurance protocol before it leaves our facility.
Chemical Analysis & Mechanical Testing: To certify that the material meets the specified grade and strength requirements.
100% Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): The entire casting is inspected using Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) to ensure it is completely free of any subsurface or surface defects.
Full Dimensional Inspection: We provide a detailed report verifying that all critical dimensions, including roundness and concentricity, are within the specified tolerances.
Complete Documentation Package: Ships with a full set of MTRs, heat treatment charts, NDT reports, and dimensional inspection records.
