Product Description
Yile Machinery is a specialized manufacturer of large-diameter, segmented girth gears for heavy industrial rotating machinery. We engineer and produce high-strength cast steel gears that are the driving force behind the world's largest cement kilns, grinding mills, and dryers.
Due to their massive scale, girth gears are manufactured in multiple segments (typically two or four) to facilitate transport and installation. The operational success of the entire system depends on the perfect alignment and meshing of these segments.
Precision Machined Joints: We ensure the split faces of each segment are machined to exceptionally tight tolerances, guaranteeing a seamless and rigid assembly on-site.
Simplified Installation & Maintenance: The segmented design allows for easier installation and enables the replacement of a single damaged segment without replacing the entire gear, significantly reducing downtime and cost.
The immense weight and relentless stress on a girth gear demand a material with exceptional toughness and wear characteristics.
Primary Girth Gear Material: High-Strength Cast Steel (e.g., ZG42CrMo)
We utilize high-strength cast alloy steels like ZG42CrMo for our girth gears. This material is ideal for large, heavy-section castings, offering excellent hardenability and resistance to surface wear while maintaining core toughness to absorb shock loads. The casting process is followed by a specialized heat treatment (Normalizing or Quenching & Tempering) to refine the grain structure and optimize mechanical properties.
Matching Drive Pinion: Forged High-Alloy Steel
The smaller drive pinion, which meshes with the girth gear, experiences higher rotational speeds and contact stress. For this critical component, we use superior forged alloy steels like 42CrMo4 or high-tensile alloys like 30CrNiMo8 to ensure maximum strength, fatigue resistance, and service life.
Pattern Making & Casting: The process begins with creating a precise mold, followed by casting with quality-controlled molten alloy steel.
Heat Treatment & Rough Machining: The raw casting undergoes a critical stress-relieving heat treatment. Afterward, it is rough machined to prepare it for gear cutting.
Precision Gear Cutting: Using our large-capacity CNC gear hobbing or milling machines, we cut the gear teeth to the exact profile and pitch required by your specifications.
Final Machining & Drilling: The split faces, bores, and mounting holes are finish-machined to precise tolerances.
Comprehensive Quality Control: No gear leaves our facility without rigorous inspection. This includes:
Dimensional Inspection of all critical features.
Hardness Testing to verify heat treatment results.
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Ultrasonic Testing (UT) to detect internal flaws and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) to ensure surface integrity, especially on teeth and joints.
