Our Manufacturing Process for Durable Bevel Gears

Quality and consistency are at the core of our production process. We ensure every gear set is built to last.

  1. Material Selection: We primarily use 20CrMnTi, a proven case-hardening alloy steel known for its excellent combination of strength, toughness, and hardenability. We can also accommodate other customer-specified materials.

  2. Precision Machining: Gear blanks are forged and then precision-machined on CNC equipment. The gear teeth are cut using specialized bevel gear generators to ensure accurate tooth profiles.

  3. Case Hardening (Carburizing & Quenching): This is the most critical step for durability. The machined gears undergo a controlled carburizing process, which introduces carbon into the surface. Subsequent quenching creates an extremely hard, wear-resistant outer case (typically 58-62 HRC) while the core remains tough and ductile to resist tooth breakage from impact.

  4. Finishing & Quality Control: Gears are finished to meet surface requirements. We produce and inspect gears as matched pinion and gear sets to ensure proper meshing and reliable operation in your assembly.
