Product Description

In the brutal environment of a mine site, equipment failure means costly downtime. The eccentric crankshaft within an excavator's drive system is a component subjected to immense, cyclical stress. Yile Machinery manufactures forged and precision-ground eccentric shafts specifically engineered to withstand these extreme conditions, offering a level of reliability and durability that surpasses standard or repaired parts.

Our Manufacturing Blueprint for Maximum Reliability

Creating a shaft that can endure the punishing forces of a mining excavator requires a process focused on metallurgical integrity and absolute precision.

1. The Foundation of Strength: Forging High-Grade Alloy Steel

We do not machine from simple bar stock. Every eccentric shaft begins as a solid billet of high-grade alloy steel, such as 42CrMo (AISI 4140) , which is then forged to its near-net shape. This forging process is critical:

  • It aligns the steel's internal grain structure to the contours of the shaft, dramatically increasing its strength and resistance to fatigue cracking.

  • It eliminates the internal porosity and defects that can lead to catastrophic failure under load.

2. The Dual-Hardness Advantage: Advanced Heat Treatment

An eccentric shaft needs two different mechanical properties: a tough core to absorb shock and hard surfaces to resist wear. We achieve this through a multi-stage heat treatment process:

  • Quenching & Tempering: The entire forged shaft is heat-treated to develop a strong, tough, and ductile core that can handle high torque and bending forces without fracturing.

  • Induction Hardening: The critical bearing journals and eccentric lobes are then surface-hardened using an induction process. This creates a deep, ultra-hard wear layer to ensure a long service life for bearings and mating components.

3. The Guarantee of Performance: Precision CNC Machining & Grinding

After hardening, the shaft is finished to its final, precise dimensions.

  • CNC Turning & Milling: Shapes the complex features of the shaft with high accuracy.

  • Cylindrical Grinding: All bearing journals and critical diameters are precision ground to a smooth surface finish and tight tolerances. This is essential for proper bearing fit, reduced friction, and preventing premature wear.

Reverse Engineering & OEM Replacement

Do you have a failed OEM shaft or need a reliable spare? We specialize in manufacturing replacement excavator shafts that meet or exceed original specifications.

  • From Sample Part: Send us your worn or broken shaft. We will perform a full metallurgical analysis and dimensional inspection to reverse-engineer and produce a superior replacement.

  • From Technical Drawing: We can manufacture directly from your OEM or custom drawings to your exact requirements.

Quality Assurance: Engineered for Zero Failure

Every eccentric shaft is rigorously inspected to guarantee its integrity before it leaves our facility.

  • 100% Ultrasonic Testing (UT) on the raw forging to certify it is free of internal flaws.

  • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) after machining to ensure there are no surface cracks.

  • CMM Dimensional Verification to confirm all diameters, eccentricities, and tolerances are perfect.

  • Hardness and Case Depth Testing to validate the heat treatment process.
