Our multi-stage manufacturing process is designed to produce pinion shafts that can withstand the most demanding applications.
Superior Materials & Forging: We begin with certified, high-strength alloy steels specifically designed for gearing, such as 20CrMnTi or 42CrMo. The material is forged to create a near-net shape with an ideal grain structure for superior fatigue and shock resistance.
Precision CNC Machining: The forged blank is precision-turned to create the shaft profile. Then, using advanced CNC gear hobbing or milling, we cut the helical gear teeth to the exact profile required for a smooth, quiet mesh.
Advanced Heat Treatment: The machined pinion undergoes a critical carburizing and quenching process (case hardening). This creates an extremely hard, wear-resistant surface on the gear teeth while maintaining a softer, tougher core that can absorb shock loads without fracturing.
Precision Grinding: After heat treatment, the gear teeth and critical bearing surfaces are precision ground. This final step corrects any minor distortion from the hardening process, ensuring perfect gear geometry, a superior surface finish, and minimal operational noise.
