Product Description

For industrial machinery, power transmission, and heavy equipment, a shaft is often more than just a simple round bar. It is a highly engineered component that requires specific features, superior strength, and precise dimensions to function reliably.

Yile Machinery is a specialized manufacturer of custom forged shafts, delivering components engineered for maximum performance and service life. We transform raw steel forgings into finished shafts with complex geometries, including integrated flanges, hollow bores, and stepped diameters.

Our Custom Shaft Manufacturing Capabilities

We manufacture a wide variety of shafts based on your technical drawings and specifications. Our capabilities allow for the production of complex, one-piece components that offer superior strength compared to welded or assembled parts.

  • Forged Flange Shafts: We produce shafts with integrated, forged flanges for secure mounting of gears, couplings, or other components. This one-piece construction provides maximum strength and eliminates the risk of weld failure.

  • Hollow Shafts: Ideal for applications requiring high strength with lower weight and reduced rotational inertia. The bore can also be used as a conduit for cooling, lubrication, or other machine elements.

  • Stepped & Complex Shafts: We precision machine multi-diameter shafts with features such as bearing journals, tapers, keyways, and threaded sections to your exact tolerances.

The Forging Advantage: Superior Strength and Reliability

We begin with an open-die forging, not simple bar stock. The forging process refines the steel's grain structure and directs the grain flow to follow the contours of the shaft, resulting in a component that offers:

  • Enhanced Fatigue Resistance: Critical for parts under cyclic load.

  • Improved Impact Toughness: Greater resistance to fracture from sudden shocks.

  • Guaranteed Structural Integrity: Elimination of the internal porosity and defects common in castings.

From Raw Material to Finished Component: Our Process

  1. Forging & Heat Treatment: We start with a certified alloy steel billet, which is forged to the near-net shape. The forging then undergoes a controlled Quenching and Tempering (Q&T) process to achieve the required mechanical properties (hardness, strength, toughness).

  2. Precision CNC Machining: The heat-treated forging is moved to our CNC machining centers. Using advanced turning and milling capabilities, we machine all features to your specified tolerances.

  3. Quality Control: Every finished shaft is inspected for dimensional accuracy. We also perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), to ensure the material is free from any internal flaws.

Materials & Applications

We are experienced in working with a wide range of carbon and alloy steels to meet your application's demands.

  • Common Materials: AISI 4140 (42CrMo4), AISI 4340 (34CrNiMo6), C45, and more.

  • Typical Applications:

    • Pump and Compressor Shafts

    • Gearbox Shafts (Input/Output)

    • Marine Propeller Shafts

    • Rolls for Mills and Processing Lines

    • Wind Turbine and Generator Shafts
