Product Description
In high-torque or high-speed machinery, the connection between a shaft and a mounted component (like a coupling, gear, or flywheel) is a critical stress point. Traditional shafts with separate, bolted-on flanges introduce potential points of failure and alignment error. Yile Machinery eliminates this risk by manufacturing one-piece, integral forged flange shafts. Our monolithic design delivers a level of strength, precision, and reliability that no multi-part assembly can match.
By forging the shaft and flange from a single billet of steel, we create a component that is fundamentally better for demanding applications.
Unbroken Structural Integrity: The continuous grain flow from the shaft through the flange provides immense strength and resistance to fatigue, especially under torsional and bending loads. There are no welds to crack or bolts to fatigue.
Perfect Concentricity & Runout: The flange face is machined to be perfectly perpendicular to the shaft's centerline. This eliminates the runout (wobble) issues common with bolted flanges, ensuring smooth rotation, reduced vibration, and longer bearing life.
Maximum Torque Transmission: A monolithic shaft transfers 100% of the torque directly, without the shear stress limitations of bolts or keys.
Simplified Design & Installation: One robust component is easier to install, inspect, and trust than a complex assembly of shafts, flanges, bolts, and keys.
We control every step of the process to ensure your flange shaft meets the most stringent quality standards.
Material Selection & Forging:
We start with certified, ultrasonically tested billets of high-grade alloy steel (e.g., 42CrMo, 34CrNiMo6, 18CrNiMo7-6) or carbon steel as per your project's requirements. The material is then forged to create the integral shaft and flange, optimizing its internal grain structure for maximum strength.
Tailored Heat Treatment:
The entire shaft undergoes a specialized heat treatment cycle (such as Normalizing, Quenching, and Tempering) to achieve the desired balance of hardness, tensile strength, and impact toughness for its specific application.
High-Precision CNC Machining:
The hardened and tempered shaft is then precision machined to final dimensions.
CNC Turning: Creates the precise shaft diameters and bearing journals.
CNC Milling: Drills and bores the bolt hole pattern on the flange face with high accuracy.
Precision Grinding: Finishes the bearing journals and critical surfaces to tight tolerances and a smooth finish for optimal performance.
Our custom forged flange shafts are the trusted solution for a wide range of heavy-duty equipment:
Power Generation: Turbine shafts, generator rotor shafts.
Marine & Shipbuilding: Propeller shafts, rudder stocks, thruster shafts.
Oil & Gas: Drive shafts for pumps, compressors, and top drives.
Industrial Machinery: Main shafts for gearboxes, presses, and mixers.
Mining & Construction: Drive terminal shafts for large conveyors and drive shafts for tunneling equipment.
