Product Description
In the demanding world of mining and construction, equipment failure is not an option. The gear shafts within your excavator's powertrain—from the final drive to the swing motor—are subjected to relentless torque and shock loads. Yile Machinery manufactures ultra-reliable, forged alloy steel gear shafts engineered to exceed OEM specifications and ensure maximum operational uptime.
The difference between a standard shaft and a high-performance shaft lies in its core structure. We exclusively use the forging process for these critical components.
Superior Impact & Fatigue Strength: Forging aligns the steel's internal grain structure to the shape of the shaft, eliminating weak points and creating a component that is vastly more resistant to fatigue cracks and catastrophic failure under shock loads.
Flawless Internal Structure: The immense pressure of the forging process refines the steel's microstructure, eliminating internal defects like porosity that can be found in cast parts or bar stock.
We build our excavator shafts from high-grade, clean alloy steels chosen for their exceptional toughness and hardenability.
Primary Material - 42CrMo (AISI 4140) Alloy Steel: This versatile chromium-molybdenum steel is the industry standard for high-stress components. It offers an excellent combination of high tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and toughness after proper heat treatment.
Advanced Heat Treatment - Quenching & Tempering (Q&T): Every shaft undergoes a precisely controlled Q&T process. This develops the ideal mechanical properties: a hard, wear-resistant surface on the splines and gear teeth, and a tough, ductile core that can absorb shock without fracturing.
Forging & Normalizing: The certified alloy steel is forged to the near-net shape and then normalized to relieve stress and refine the grain structure.
Rough Machining: The shaft is pre-machined to prepare it for heat treatment.
Quenching & Tempering: The shaft undergoes the critical Q&T cycle to achieve its target strength and toughness.
Precision CNC Machining: Using advanced CNC lathes and milling centers, we machine all features—splines, gear profiles, bearing journals, and tapers—to exact OEM or custom drawing specifications.
Induction Hardening (Optional): For maximum wear life, gear teeth and spline surfaces can be further hardened using a localized induction hardening process.
Final Grinding: Critical bearing surfaces are precision ground to ensure perfect fitment and extend the life of your bearings and seals.
We understand that failure is not an option. That is why every single high-stress excavator shaft undergoes rigorous inspection before it leaves our facility.
100% Ultrasonic Testing (UT): We scan the entire volume of the forged shaft to guarantee it is completely free of any internal defects.
Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI): We inspect the entire surface of the finished shaft to ensure there are no cracks or surface-level flaws.
Dimensional & Hardness Verification: We confirm that all dimensions are within tolerance and that the heat treatment has achieved the specified hardness.
We manufacture a wide range of gear shafts for excavators, including:
Final Drive Shafts / Travel Motor Shafts
Swing Drive Pinion Shafts
Pump Drive Shafts
We can produce shafts based on OEM part numbers for brands like Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, Doosan, and more, or manufacture directly from your technical drawings.
