Product Description
In continuous strip processing lines—such as those in aluminum and steel mills—roll shafts are the backbone of the operation. Squeeze rolls, in particular, are subjected to immense pressure, corrosive fluids, and the need for absolute precision. A failure in a roll shaft can lead to costly downtime, production loss, and damage to the product.
Yile Machinery is a premier manufacturer of custom-engineered forged steel roll shafts, built to withstand the harshest industrial environments and deliver unparalleled reliability.
For critical components like large-diameter roll shafts, forging is the only manufacturing process that guarantees the required mechanical properties.
Superior Material Integrity: We begin with high-quality carbon and alloy steel ingots (e.g., 42CrMo / AISI 4140, 45#, 50Mn, 34CrNiMo6). The forging process refines the steel's internal grain structure, eliminating porosity and creating a continuous grain flow that follows the shaft's contour.
Enhanced Mechanical Properties: This results in a shaft with significantly higher tensile strength, fatigue resistance, and impact toughness compared to shafts made from cast material or simple bar stock.
Every roll shaft we produce is a feat of precision engineering, designed for maximum life and performance.
Optimized Heat Treatment: All forged shafts undergo a Quenching and Tempering (Q&T) process. This crucial step develops a uniform and stable microstructure throughout the shaft, providing the ideal combination of high strength, hardness, and ductility to resist bending and fatigue.
Precision CNC Machining & Grinding: Post heat treatment, the shafts are precision machined.
Bearing Journals & Sealing Surfaces: Ground to extremely tight tolerances for perfect bearing fit and effective sealing.
Roll Body: Turned and ground to ensure perfect concentricity, straightness, and the required surface finish (Ra) to prevent marking on the processed material (e.g., aluminum sheet).
Dynamic Balancing: For high-speed applications, rolls can be dynamically balanced to eliminate vibration and ensure smooth operation.
We are a custom manufacturer capable of producing a wide range of roll shafts based on your technical drawings or by reverse-engineering an existing part. Our capabilities include:
Squeeze Rolls / Wringer Rolls: Used to remove liquids (coolants, emulsions, water) from the strip surface.
Deflector Rolls & Steering Rolls: Used to guide the metal strip through the processing line.
Bridle Rolls & Tension Rolls: Used to control strip tension.
Work Rolls & Back-Up Rolls for smaller mills.
These rolls are essential components in:
Aluminum and Steel Cold/Hot Rolling Mills
Annealing and Pickling Lines
Coating and Galvanizing Lines
Paper Mills
Textile and Plastics Processing
