Product Description
Crane wheels are among the most critical and hardest-working components of an overhead crane system. They bear the entire load and are subjected to immense rolling friction and stress. The quality of your crane wheels directly impacts the safety, reliability, and lifespan of your entire crane.
Yile Machinery is a leading manufacturer of custom-engineered forged steel crane wheels, built to deliver exceptional performance and wear resistance in the most demanding industrial environments.
We exclusively use the forging process for our heavy-duty crane wheels, providing significant advantages over cast or plate-cut wheels.
Premium Forged Steel: Our wheels are forged from high-quality, clean carbon and alloy steels such as C45, C55, 42CrMo (AISI 4140), and 41Cr4. The forging process creates a refined grain structure and continuous grain flow, resulting in superior mechanical properties, impact toughness, and fatigue resistance.
Advanced Heat Treatment for Maximum Wear Life: The key to a long-lasting crane wheel is the hardness of its running surface. We employ specialized heat treatment methods to achieve optimal hardness and durability:
Tread & Flange Hardening (Induction or Flame): This process creates a deep, hardened wear layer on the wheel's tread and inner flange surfaces (typically HRC 50-60). This dramatically resists metal-on-metal wear and plastic deformation from the rail.
Quenching & Tempering: Prior to final machining, the entire wheel forging is often quenched and tempered to enhance its core strength and toughness, making it highly resistant to cracking.
Precision CNC Machining: After heat treatment, all wheels are finished on CNC lathes to ensure perfect concentricity, a precise tread profile (e.g., flat, crowned, tapered), and a smooth surface finish for reduced friction and noise.
We deliver not just wheels, but complete, ready-to-install solutions tailored to your specific crane or transfer car.
We manufacture all common types:
Drive Wheels: Supplied with integrated gears (as seen in photos) or keyways for mounting external gears.
Idler / Driven Wheels: Non-powered wheels that roll freely on the axle.
Flange Types: Including double flange (most common for cranes), single flange, and flangeless wheels for various track types.
A complete crane wheel assembly can include:
The Forged Steel Wheel
High-Tensile Steel Axle/Shaft
Heavy-Duty Bearings (e.g., Spherical Roller Bearings)
Bearing Housings / Pillow Blocks
Drive Gears
Our forged crane wheels are the preferred choice for OEM and replacement use on:
Overhead Cranes (EOT Cranes)
Gantry and Portal Cranes
Rail-Mounted Transfer Carts
Shipyard and Port Cranes
Steel Mill Ladle Cars and Billet Carts
Industrial Rail Bogies
