Product Description

Where Safety Cannot Be Compromised

In heavy industry, the crane hook is the most critical point of contact in any lifting operation. Failure is not an option. That is why forging is the required manufacturing method for high-capacity and safety-critical hooks.

Yile Machinery is a specialist manufacturer of custom forged crane hooks designed for the most demanding environments, from steel mill ladles to port container cranes. We engineer and manufacture hooks that meet or exceed international standards, ensuring the safety of your people and your assets.

The Forging Advantage: Superior Strength and Reliability

Unlike cast or welded hooks, which can contain hidden internal defects, a forged hook offers unparalleled strength and fatigue resistance.

  • The Process: We start with a solid billet of certified high-grade alloy steel (like 34CrMo4 / 34CrNiMo6). The steel is heated and shaped under immense pressure.

  • The Result: This process creates an unbroken internal grain structure that follows the contour of the hook. This eliminates internal voids and provides the highest possible resistance to shock, overload, and fatigue failure.

Types of Heavy-Duty Hooks We Manufacture

We produce a wide range of hook types according to your specific application and lifting requirements.

  • Laminated "Ramshorn" Hooks: As pictured, these hooks are built from multiple steel plates riveted together. This design offers incredible strength and a degree of redundancy, making them the standard choice for handling extremely heavy and hot loads, such as steel ladles in foundries and mills.

  • Single and Duplex Hooks (Eye or Shank Type): The universal standard for a vast range of overhead cranes and hoists. We forge these to precise international standards, most commonly DIN 15401 (single) and DIN 15402 (duplex/ramshorn) .

  • Custom Engineered Hooks: We can design and manufacture a hook for any specialized lifting application based on your drawings or requirements.

Uncompromising Safety & Quality Assurance

Every hook we produce is a safety-critical component, and it is treated as such. We implement a rigorous quality control and testing protocol to guarantee performance.

  • Full Material Certification & Traceability: Every hook starts with certified alloy steel and is assigned a unique serial number for 100% traceability.

  • 100% Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): After forging and heat treatment, every hook is subjected to:

    • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) to detect any surface-breaking cracks.

    • Ultrasonic Testing (UT) to ensure internal integrity.

  • Proof Load Testing: Every hook is proof tested to a minimum of 2 times the Working Load Limit (WLL) without any deformation. A test certificate is provided.

  • Compliance with International Standards: Our hooks are manufactured in accordance with standards such as DIN, ISO, and BS. We can supply hooks with material grades P, T, V, and S.
