Product Description

Conveyor pulleys are the critical heart of any belt conveyor system. They are responsible for driving the belt, maintaining tension, and directing its path. In demanding industries like mining and bulk material handling, the reliability of the conveyor pulley directly impacts the productivity of the entire operation.

Yile Machinery specializes in engineering and manufacturing robust, high-performance conveyor pulleys built to withstand the most extreme loads and abrasive conditions.

Anatomy of a High-Performance Conveyor Pulley

Our pulleys are not off-the-shelf components; they are engineered assemblies where each part is optimized for strength and longevity.

  1. The Drum Shell: The pulley body is fabricated from heavy-gauge rolled steel plate, welded using automated Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) for deep penetration and flawless joints. The entire shell is stress-relieved after welding to prevent distortion.

  2. The Forged Shaft: This is the backbone of the pulley. We exclusively use high-strength forged alloy steel shafts made from materials like 34CrNiMo. The forging process creates a grain structure superior to standard bar stock, providing maximum resistance to fatigue and bending stresses from high belt tension.

  3. Bearing & Locking Assemblies: We integrate our pulleys with heavy-duty bearing housings and locking elements to ensure a secure connection to the shaft, facilitating maximum torque transmission and reliable, long-term rotation.

Types of Conveyor Pulleys We Manufacture

We custom-build a full range of pulleys to suit any position on your conveyor:

  • Drive / Head Pulleys: Engineered to transmit full motor power. Can be supplied with high-quality rubber or ceramic lagging to increase friction and reduce belt slippage.

  • Tail Pulleys: Available in standard flat-face designs or self-cleaning "wing" or "spiral" pulley designs for applications with sticky material.

  • Bend Pulleys: Used to change the direction of the conveyor belt.

  • Snub Pulleys: Increase the wrap angle of the belt on the drive pulley.

  • Take-Up Pulleys: Used in the take-up system to maintain proper belt tension.

Key Features & Advantages

  • Maximum Torque Transmission: The combination of a high-strength forged 34CrNiMo shaft and secure locking elements ensures the pulley can handle the most powerful drive systems without failure.

  • Superior Durability: Robust, stress-relieved drum construction withstands high belt tension and impact loads common in mining and aggregate industries.

  • Extended Belt & Bearing Life: All pulleys are precision-machined and statically or dynamically balanced to ensure perfect concentricity, reducing vibration and wear.

  • Custom Lagging Options: We offer plain steel, diamond-groove rubber, or ceramic lagging to match your specific application requirements for friction or wear resistance.
