Product Description

Engineered for Maximum Durability in Construction, Agricultural, and Industrial Machinery

Yile Machinery specializes in the manufacturing of large, high-torque spur gears designed for the most demanding applications. By combining robust materials with a precision induction hardening process, we produce gears that offer superior wear resistance and fatigue strength, ensuring the reliability of your heavy-duty gearboxes.

We are a trusted partner for OEMs and MROs who require custom-engineered gears that can withstand extreme loads and harsh operating environments.

The Critical Advantage of Induction Hardening for Large Gears

For heavy-duty gears, not all hardening methods are equal. Induction hardening provides a unique combination of properties that is ideal for high-torque applications.

  • Targeted Surface Hardness: The process uses a high-frequency electromagnetic field to rapidly heat only the gear teeth and root. This creates an extremely hard, wear-resistant layer (typically 55-60 HRC) precisely where it's needed most.

  • Ductile and Tough Core: Because the core of the gear is not heated, it retains its original, lower-hardness toughness. This allows the gear to absorb shock loads and resist tooth breakage under sudden impacts—a common cause of failure in through-hardened gears.

  • Superior Fatigue Strength: Induction hardening introduces compressive stresses at the tooth root, significantly increasing the gear's resistance to fatigue cracking from cyclical loading.

  • Minimal Distortion: Compared to furnace hardening, the localized and rapid heating of induction hardening results in minimal part distortion, making it ideal for large-diameter gears where dimensional stability is critical.

Our Manufacturing Process for Heavy-Duty Gears

  1. Material Selection: We start with high-quality, certified alloy steels such as 42CrMo (4140) or 40Cr, chosen for their excellent strength and response to heat treatment.

  2. Forging & Machining: The raw material is forged to create a strong, uniform grain structure. The gear blank is then rough and finish machined on heavy-duty CNC lathes and milling centers.

  3. Gear Cutting: We use powerful gear hobbing or milling machines to accurately cut the gear teeth to your specified module and profile.

  4. Induction Hardening: Each gear undergoes a controlled induction hardening process. The process parameters (power, frequency, quench time) are precisely managed to achieve the specified case depth and hardness pattern.

  5. Quality Control: Every gear is inspected for hardness, case depth, and dimensional accuracy to ensure it meets or exceeds your specifications.
