Material Selection & Forging: We begin with high-quality alloy steel, typically 20CrMnTi or 42CrMo. The material is forged into gear blanks, creating a favorable grain flow that dramatically increases strength and fatigue resistance compared to gears cut from bar stock.
Precision Gear Cutting (Hobbing & Shaping): Using advanced CNC gear hobbing machines, we cut the straight bevel teeth to precise profiles, ensuring accurate geometry.
Specialized Heat Treatment: This is a critical step. Gears undergo a controlled carburizing and quenching process (case hardening). This creates an extremely hard, wear-resistant surface (HRC 58-62) while maintaining a softer, tougher core that can absorb shock loads.
Precision Grinding & Lapping: After heat treatment, the gear teeth are ground to remove any minor distortions and achieve a high-precision surface finish. The crown wheel and pinion are then lapped together as a matched set, ensuring a perfect contact pattern for smooth, quiet, and efficient power transmission.
