Product Description
Engineered for Unmatched Durability in High-Load Linear Motion Systems
Yile Machinery is a leading manufacturer of custom-engineered gear racks and pinions built to withstand the world's most extreme operating conditions. We specialize in producing large-module, forged steel rack and pinion systems that provide reliable, high-force linear motion for mining excavators, gantry cranes, steel mills, and other heavy industrial machinery.
When downtime is not an option, our robustly engineered components are the trusted solution for mission-critical applications.
For heavy-duty applications, the material's internal structure is as important as its chemical composition. We exclusively use forged steel for our racks and pinions, which offers significant advantages over cast or standard bar stock materials.
Maximum Impact Strength: The forging process refines the steel's grain structure, eliminating internal voids and creating a dense, tough material that can absorb the severe shock loads common in mining and construction.
Enhanced Fatigue Life: The continuous, aligned grain flow of a forged component provides superior resistance to the fatigue cracking that can develop under millions of load cycles.
Guaranteed Material Integrity: Forging ensures a homogenous and reliable material, providing a solid foundation for precision machining and heat treatment.
Every step of our process is optimized to produce gear racks and pinions that deliver exceptional performance and service life.
Material Selection: We begin with high-quality forged alloy steels such as 42CrMo (AISI 4140) , 40Cr, and C45, selected for their balance of strength, toughness, and hardenability.
Precision CNC Machining:
Gear Racks: Machined on specialized long-bed CNC milling machines or gear shapers to ensure high accuracy over the entire length. We can produce racks in sections for assembly into very long travel distances.
Pinion Gears: Precision-turned and then gear-cut using CNC hobbing or milling to ensure perfect meshing with the rack.
Advanced Surface Hardening: The gear teeth are the primary wear surface. We utilize induction hardening to create a deep, wear-resistant case with a surface hardness of 50-60 HRC. This critical step dramatically increases the component's life by protecting it from abrasive wear, while the core of the tooth remains ductile to prevent fracture.
Optional Gear Grinding: For applications requiring higher precision and quieter operation, we offer precision grinding of the gear teeth after heat treatment to achieve an even better surface finish and profile accuracy.
Rigorous Quality Control: All components are subject to strict quality checks, including dimensional verification, hardness testing, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to ensure they are free of any defects.
