Product Description

Yile Machinery is a specialist manufacturer of large module spur gears for high-torque power transmission in heavy industrial machinery. We combine robust materials with precision manufacturing processes, including tooth grinding, to deliver gears that offer exceptional strength, reliability, and service life.

The Power of Large Modules & Precision Grinding

What is a Large Module Gear?

The module of a gear defines the size of its teeth. A larger module means larger, stronger teeth capable of transmitting immense torque and withstanding high shock loads without failure. Our capabilities in manufacturing large module gears make us a key supplier for heavy-duty applications.

The Advantage of Ground Teeth

While many gears are finished after cutting (hobbing or shaping), the highest-precision gears undergo a final tooth grinding process after heat treatment. This delivers significant performance advantages:

  • Superior Accuracy: Grinding corrects any minor distortions from heat treatment, resulting in a perfect gear profile.

  • Smooth & Quiet Operation: The exceptional surface finish and accuracy of ground teeth ensure smoother meshing, dramatically reducing noise and vibration.

  • Increased Service Life: Reduced vibration and perfect contact patterns minimize wear, significantly extending the operational life of the gear and the gearbox.

Materials & Heat Treatment for Maximum Durability

The performance of a heavy-duty gear is determined by its material and heat treatment. We select the optimal materials to meet your load and application requirements.

  • Material Selection:

    • Forged Alloy Steel (e.g., 42CrMo / AISI 4140, 34CrNiMo6): Preferred for most high-load applications, offering a superior grain structure and fatigue resistance.

    • Cast Alloy Steel (e.g., ZG42CrMo): Used for very large gears where a casting is more practical, providing excellent toughness and wear characteristics.

  • Specialized Heat Treatment:

We employ a multi-stage heat treatment process to achieve the ideal balance of a hard, wear-resistant surface and a tough, ductile core. This can include:

  • Quenching & Tempering: To establish high core strength and toughness.

  • Surface Hardening (Induction or Flame Hardening): To create a hard-wearing surface on the gear teeth.

Our Precision Manufacturing Process

  1. Material Sourcing: We begin with quality-inspected forged or cast steel blanks.

  2. CNC Turning & Machining: The blank is precision-turned to create the basic gear geometry and features.

  3. Precision Gear Cutting: Using our large-capacity CNC gear hobbing machines, we cut the gear teeth with high accuracy.

  4. Heat Treatment: The gear undergoes its specified hardening process.

  5. Precision Tooth Grinding: The gear teeth are precision ground on specialized CNC grinding machines to achieve the final, high-accuracy profile and surface finish.

  6. Final Inspection: Every gear is subject to rigorous quality control, including dimensional checks, gear profile inspection, hardness testing, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to ensure it meets all specifications.

Applications for Large Module Spur Gears

Our heavy-duty spur gears are critical components in a wide range of industrial equipment:

  • Industrial Gearboxes

  • Mining & Mineral Processing Equipment (e.g., Mill Drives, Conveyors)

  • Steel Mill Machinery (e.g., Rolling Mills)

  • Marine Propulsion and Deck Winches

  • Power Generation Turbines

  • Large Construction Machinery
