We specialize in fabricated drums, built from certified, high-strength rolled steel plate (such as Q345B/C/D or equivalent ASTM grades). Compared to castings, a fabricated design offers distinct advantages for these large-scale components:
Verified Material Integrity: We use certified plate with full traceability, eliminating the risk of internal casting defects like porosity or voids.
Exceptional Strength: Drums are constructed with full penetration welds using Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), ensuring a homogenous structure with immense strength.

A drum's primary job is to protect your most expensive consumable: the wire rope. Improper spooling leads to rope crushing, abrasion, and premature failure.
We machine our drum grooves with absolute precision to ensure smooth, controlled spooling of the wire rope, even in multi-layer applications.
Groove Profile: We manufacture drums with Lebus-style grooving, helical grooves, or any custom profile required by the OEM design.
Benefit: Precise grooving prevents rope pinching and scrubbing, drastically reducing wear and significantly extending the service life of your hoist and drag ropes.
For a component this critical, there is no room for error. Our quality assurance protocol is built to meet the stringent demands of the mining industry.
100% Weld Inspection: All critical welds are subjected to Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) to guarantee they are free from defects.
Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT): The entire fabricated drum assembly is stress relieved in a furnace to eliminate residual stresses from welding, preventing distortion and ensuring long-term dimensional stability.
Precision Machining & Balancing: After heat treatment, the drum is machined to final dimensions on large-capacity CNC lathes. We can also perform dynamic balancing to minimize vibration at high operating speeds.
Final Dimensional & NDT Reporting: A complete quality documentation package is provided with every drum.
