The interaction between the sheave groove and the wire rope is critical. Our manufacturing process focuses on protecting your wire rope investment and ensuring smooth operation.

  1. Premium Material Selection: We begin with high-quality carbon and alloy steels such as C45, 35CrMo, and 42CrMo (AISI 4140) , selected for their strength and toughness.

  2. Precision CNC Machining: The wire rope groove is CNC-machined to precise dimensions and a smooth surface finish. A proper groove profile provides optimal support for the wire rope, preventing it from flattening or being damaged under load.

  3. Groove Surface Hardening: To maximize wear resistance, the sheave's rope groove undergoes a surface hardening process (typically induction or flame hardening) to achieve a hardness of HRC 45-55. This hardened layer dramatically resists the abrasive action of the wire rope, ensuring the groove profile is maintained for a much longer period.

  4. Rigorous Quality Control: Every sheave is subject to strict quality inspections, including dimensional checks and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) like Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) or Ultrasonic Testing (UT) to guarantee it is free from any defects.
