The Real Secret to Longevity: Advanced Surface Hardening
The key to a long-lasting wheel isn't just the steel, but the heat treatment. Our process creates a wheel with two distinct properties: a very hard, wear-resistant outer surface and a tougher, more ductile core that can absorb shock.
Process: We use induction or flame hardening to precisely heat the tread and flange surfaces. This is followed by a controlled quench.
Result: This creates a deep, uniform hardened layer with a hardness of 45-55 HRC or higher. This hard "case" dramatically resists the metal-to-metal wear from the rail.
