Internal Gear Slewing Ring Bearings | Four-Point Contact Design

Product Description

The Compact, High-Performance Solution for Complex Rotational Systems

Yile Machinery manufactures a comprehensive range of four-point contact ball slewing bearings featuring an integrated internal gear. This design provides a robust, single-unit solution for transmitting loads and rotational motion, making it ideal for applications where space is limited and performance is critical.

By combining the bearing and gear into one component, our internal gear slewing rings help engineers design more compact, reliable, and cost-effective machinery.

The Advantage of the Internal Gear Design

Choosing a slewing ring with an internal gear offers distinct engineering benefits:

  • Space Efficiency: The drive pinion is mounted within the bearing's inner diameter, creating a significantly smaller overall design footprint compared to an external gear configuration.

  • Gear Protection: The internal gear teeth are shielded by the equipment structure, protecting them from impact, debris, and environmental contamination.

  • Enhanced Safety: The enclosed gear mechanism reduces pinch points, improving operational safety.

The Versatility of the Four-Point Contact Ball Bearing

The four-point contact design is the most widely used configuration for slewing bearings due to its exceptional versatility.

A single row of ball bearings runs in a specially designed gothic arch raceway. This geometry allows the bearing to simultaneously accommodate axial (thrust) loads, radial loads, and significant tilting moment loads from any direction. This eliminates the need for complex multi-bearing systems, simplifying your design and assembly.

Manufacturing for Durability and Precision

Every slewing ring we produce is built to exacting standards to ensure long life and reliable performance.

  1. Robust Materials: We use high-quality forged steel rings, typically from 42CrMo or 50Mn, known for their strength and toughness.

  2. Induction Hardened Raceways: The bearing raceways are precision-machined and then undergo an induction hardening process to achieve a surface hardness of 55-62 HRC. This creates a deep, wear-resistant case for handling high contact stresses while the core remains tough to resist fracture.

  3. Precision Gear Cutting: The internal gear teeth are precision-cut to your specified module and quality level, ensuring smooth, low-backlash meshing with your drive pinion.

  4. High-Quality Components: Bearings are assembled with precision steel balls, durable spacers/cages, and robust Nitrile (NBR) seals to retain grease and keep contaminants out.

  5. Quality Control: Every bearing is inspected for dimensional accuracy, rotational torque, and clearance to ensure it meets or exceeds your specifications.
