From Forging to Finished Gear: Our Controlled Manufacturing Process


  1. Material Selection: We begin with certified carbon and alloy steels, including C45 (AISI 1045) for general applications and higher-strength alloys like 42CrMo (AISI 4140) for more demanding loads.

  2. Die Forging: The raw material is heated and forged in a die to create a "near-net shape" blank. This critical step establishes the optimized grain flow that provides superior strength.

  3. CNC Machining: The forged blank is precision-machined on CNC lathes and mills to create the bore, hub, faces, and any required features like keyways or lightening holes.

  4. Precision Gear Cutting: Using state-of-the-art CNC Gear Hobbing or Gear Shaping machines, we cut the spur gear teeth to precise AGMA or DIN quality standards, ensuring smooth, quiet, and efficient operation.

  5. Selective Heat Treatment: To maximize wear resistance, the gear teeth can be selectively hardened via induction hardening or flame hardening. This process creates a very hard outer surface (typically 50-58 HRC) to resist wear, while the core of the gear remains ductile and tough to absorb impacts.
