Forged Eccentric Shafts for Jaw & Cone Crushers
Product Description
The eccentric shaft is the heart of a crusher. It operates in one of the most brutal environments in heavy industry, enduring immense cyclical loads and severe impact forces with every rotation. A failure in this single component brings the entire crushing operation to a halt.
At Yile Machinery, we manufacture ultra-reliable, forged eccentric shafts engineered for maximum strength and fatigue resistance. We understand that in mining and aggregate production, durability is not optional—it's essential.
The Critical Advantage of Forging for Crusher Shafts
An eccentric shaft cannot be made from simple bar stock or casting; it must be forged. The forging process is fundamental to its strength:
Unbroken Grain Flow: We forge our shafts from a single billet of high-strength alloy steel. This process aligns the internal grain structure of the steel to the shape of the shaft, including the eccentric lobes. This continuous grain flow dramatically increases resistance to fatigue cracking, the primary failure mode for crusher shafts.
Elimination of Internal Defects: The intense pressure of the forging process consolidates the steel, eliminating internal voids or porosity that could become stress points and lead to failure.
Superior Toughness & Impact Strength: Forged steel provides a superior combination of hardness and ductility, allowing the shaft to absorb the shock of crushing oversized rock without fracturing.
Our Manufacturing Process: Strength at Every Step
We control the entire manufacturing lifecycle to produce a shaft you can depend on.
1. Premium Material & Forging
We begin with certified high-strength alloy steels such as 42CrMo (AISI 4140) or 34CrNiMo6 (AISI 4340) , selected for their proven performance in high-stress applications. The raw forging is then subjected to 100% Ultrasonic Testing (UT) to guarantee it is free from any internal flaws.
2. Specialized Heat Treatment
After forging and rough machining, the shaft undergoes a precise Quenching and Tempering (Q&T) cycle. This critical heat treatment process develops the optimal mechanical properties: a hard, wear-resistant surface on the bearing journals and eccentric lobes, supported by a tough, ductile core that can withstand immense torsional and bending forces.
3. Precision Machining & Grinding
Using advanced CNC lathes and milling centers, we machine the shaft to its final, complex geometry.
The eccentric lobes are precisely machined to ensure the correct "throw" for optimal crusher performance.
All bearing journals and seal surfaces are precision ground to tight tolerances and a fine surface finish, ensuring long bearing life and preventing oil leaks.
