Centrifugal Cast Sleeves for High-Temperature Furnace Rolls

Product Description

In continuous annealing (CAL), galvanizing (CGL), and other heat-treating lines, furnace rolls are subjected to extreme temperatures, corrosive atmospheres, and constant abrasion. The roll surface is the first point of failure. Replacing an entire solid roll is expensive and time-consuming.

Our centrifugal cast sleeves offer a technically superior and highly cost-effective solution. By fitting a high-performance, wear-resistant sleeve over a standard steel arbor, you can significantly extend the service life of your furnace rolls and reduce maintenance costs.

The Superiority of Centrifugal Casting

For high-temperature roll applications, centrifugal casting is the premier manufacturing method. Molten metal is poured into a rapidly rotating mold, forcing the metal to the outside with immense pressure. This process yields a product with:

  • Extremely Dense Grain Structure: Eliminates porosity, gas pockets, and other defects common in static castings.

  • Enhanced Mechanical Strength: The fine, uniform microstructure provides superior resistance to thermal fatigue, creep, and distortion at high temperatures.

  • Improved Purity: Impurities and less dense materials are forced to the inner bore, where they are later machined away, leaving only the highest integrity material for the working surface.

  • Excellent Dimensional Consistency: Produces sleeves with uniform wall thickness and straightness.

Engineered Bi-Metal Construction for Performance & Weldability

Our roll sleeves are typically manufactured with a bi-metal (or compound) structure to deliver the best of both worlds:

  • Outer Wear Layer: Centrifugally cast from advanced heat-resistant, high-chromium-nickel alloys (e.g., ZG40Cr25Ni20Si2 / HK40, ZG35Cr28Ni16). This layer provides exceptional resistance to oxidation, carburization, and high-temperature wear.

  • Inner Base Layer: Made from a standard, weldable carbon or low-alloy steel. This layer is metallurgically bonded to the outer wear layer during the casting process and allows for easy, reliable welding of the sleeve to the roll's core or shaft.

This innovative construction provides a premium wear surface on a cost-effective, easily integrated base.

Applications in Steel & Aluminum Processing

Our centrifugally cast components are critical for reliability in the hottest sections of your processing lines.

  • Furnace Rolls & Hearth Rolls: For continuous annealing lines (CAL) and galvanizing lines (CGL).

  • Sink Rolls & Stabilizing Rolls: For hot-dip galvanizing pots.

  • Radiant Tubes: For indirect heating systems within furnaces, where they provide exceptional service life and thermal efficiency.

  • Rolls for Aluminum Processing & Heat Treatment Furnaces.
